L'Oreal Super Liner Blackbuster Eyeliner Pen

L'Oreal Superliner Blackbuster Liner Pen - £6.99
Eye liner is something that is always tricky to do well, even after years of practice I still can't get it quite right all the time. Felt tip liner pens are great liner products, and make it a lot easier when you don't have the time to produce intricate flicks. The L'Oreal Super Liner Blackbuster is a great example of these. It has a thick, firm nib which makes the liner easy to apply without smudging. The colour of this stuff is a good black, and it sticks around a fair while, even with my pesky eyes. I think this is a great bargain and a fantastic product for the high street.

Maybelline Colour Tattoos: My Collection

L to R: Pink Gold; Permanent Taupe; On and One Bronze; Metallic Pomegranate. - £4.99
The Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoos were a product that was becoming huge when I started my blog about a year ago. Naturally, as a high street make up junkie, I own my fair share of them, but realised I had never reviewed them or posted about them. I thought I would talk you through my collection and what I like to use particular shades for.

Make Up Bag - No 7*
Considering how much I travel, I find it a bit mad that I have ever done a travel make up feature on the blog. I thought it was about time that changed, and since I was headed home this weekend for some Harry Potter related adventures, I figured this was the perfect time to start.

Soap & Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter

Monday, 20 January 2014

Soap & Glory Whipped Clean Luxe Cream Wash Shower Butter - £8*
Ladies and gentlemen, please allow me to introduce you to possibly my favourite shower product ever. This was actually a Christmas gift from a friend, something I had never tried before from Soap & Glory, and I just can't get over how amazing it is.

The products comes out in a thick and creamy consistency, it is really just like body butter. I like to use a dollop on damp skin and I find that it covers my whole body no problem. It doesn't exactly lather up, but you can tell that the product is dispersing. I also wouldn't exactly recommend using this with a loofer, but I find my hands are fine, or for a bit of extra luxury exfoliating gloves would be good too. This stuff is so moisturising and although I do try to moisturise after every shower, I feel like this has already made such a difference to my skin before that step. The smell isn't the classic Soap & Glory smell, but I love it. It's like a nutty, creamy scent, which the packaging says is down to Cocoa & Shea Butters, Sweet Almond & Macadamia Nut Oils. Whatever it is, it smells damn good.

I have used this so much since getting it and I have a feeling it may replace my Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel for a while, and I will definitely be repurchasing it when I've finished it.

No 7 Brush Cleanser

Monday, 13 January 2014

I think it is fair to say that as a beauty blogger, my biggest transgression is how little I clean my make up brushes. It is so important to clean your brushes, as they harbour bacteria and this can cause havoc for your skin. Ideally, your brushes should be cleaned every two weeks max, unless you share your brushes, in which case clean them after every use.

My main issue is with living in a student house, it probably isn't fair to hog the bathroom for half an hour or more to clean my brushes, and then I don't have much space to put them while they dry. There aren't a lot of brush cleansers on the market (Real Techniques I'm looking at you with hope here) and those that do supply charge more than I want to pay. However, one day I found myself perusing the aisles of Boots and saw a No 7 brush cleanser for only £8. As you can imagine, I bought it there and then.

I use this to clean my brushes every week or so. I pump a couple of pumps onto a flannel and just circle my brushes in the liquid until they are clean. This normally takes me 15 mins, and I have a lot of brushes... They take seconds to dry afterwards, but I normally do them the night before just to be safe. My brushes stay clean, my face stays relatively spotless and life is good. This has truly been a holy grail product and I will definitely repurchase this over and over again.

Have you tried any brush cleansers?

Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer

Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Shadow Primer - £4.99
I had never seen myself as a candidate for an eye primer in the past. I don't have oily lids, my make up doesn't seem to transfer to the upper part of my eyes, and my eye shadows seemed to stay on fine. However, when Rimmel released a budget one, I thought what could be the harm to trying one out?

This primer is a silicone based primer, and as I said before I can't comment on how it holds up to oily lids, but I can comment on how it has improved my eyeshadow. For a start, they last noticeably longer, which was something that hadn't really crossed my mind before, and they also give the colour more impact. I have especially been enjoying using this with my Rimmel Brixton Brown Palette. Eyeshadows blend really well on top of them and I find there is less fall down with the powder. Overall, this is a bargain and you can't really go wrong with a cheap primer if you have pretty basic normal eyelid needs.

2014 Resolutions

Friday, 3 January 2014

Here's to the new year...
I wasn't really sure where to start with this one. I am never normally one to make a resolution and stick to it - I think many people will sympathise with me on that one - but in the last year, so much has happened, good and bad, and I know that this year there is going to be even more so I thought it was about time to set some goals. Maybe if I give them a different name they will be easier to stick to...
